From some of the comments in the forum, I'm not sure the Rebelle developers understand what photo cloning is (they keep referring to tracing layers and now with Rebelle 4 what is called "influence layers").Īre there any plans to introduce true photo cloning features (like Painter has) in future updates? Photo cloning is a useful ability for grabbing backgrounds from other sources and incorporating them or just taking a photo and turning it into a painting. You can create a reference layer that picks up color information, but that information does not transition as you draw strokes across your reference, so it does not clone, it just picks up a color until you click on another part of the reference image (so to pick up color transitions you have click repeatedly on the image which is a lot of work). The famous song Diamonds are a girl's best friend by Marilyn Monroe, could be modified to Bags are a girl's best friend. Always considered a must-have, bags have replaced diamonds in the women's heart. The color tracing in Rebelle appears to be primitive at best. Rebelle boasts a big collection both for the research of shades and for the modern design, elements that create bags suitable for all women. In essence, cloning the entire image with the selected tool. As great as Rebelle is, one thing that I miss from other programs like Painter or Photoshop is the ability to clone paint (picking up color, color transitions and details from a reference image).
